Kathy Nolan
Hi! My name is Kathy Nolan. I am a Barre Flow + Yoga Teacher at the Studio.
I’ve been living in Healdsburg for 4 years, happily transplanted from New York in September of 2018 with my husband, Chris, to make our ‘wine country living’ dream come true.
I have always been a health and fitness enthusiast. I became a certified fitness instructor many years ago. Later on I trained in mixed martial arts and became a Thai Yoga Massage practitioner which led to a fascination with the physical and energetic workings of the human body. That work led me directly to my yoga practice and the past 15 years as a yoga instructor.
My introduction to Catherine happened just a few weeks after moving to Healdsburg. I found her at the Dailey Method in Santa Rosa and felt an immediate connection. After my first class with Catherine, she asked if I would consider teaching Barre. I told her I was considering it. Teacher training began just a few weeks later and I became one of the original Barre instructors at The Dailey Method Healdsburg.
When I think back on all the ups and downs and the curves that the past 3 years have thrown at our studio and staff, not to mention our incredible students, I’m astonished by the resilience of our community and the support we receive from each other on a constant basis. For many of us, the studio is like a second home; a place where we know for sure we will see smiling faces, perhaps a grimace or two during class, but sighs and smiles when the work is done, because we’re all in it together.
Outside of the studio, I spend lots of time with my Icelandic horse, Tulpa. Horses have always been a true love of my life. Owning my first horse at this stage of my life is another dream come true and a constant personal reminder that it’s never too late to live the life you imagined.
I look forward to all the changes and excitement in the coming year at The Studio!
